Falling (in)

She remembered every minute, every scent, every word, every feeling. As if time had stopped, only he and she revolved around each other. There were so many distractions, but not a one caught their attention...they were too full of each other.

She was instantly smitten. She never quite forgot that shy sparkle in his eye nor could she remember what had made her feel happiness before then. She was only sure that this was spring and he everything new and fresh in her life. She knew fairy tales were for kids, but she thought maybe that was a myth.

She was giddy, awake for the very first time that winter. She was about to throw caution to the wind. Somewhere in her mind, "love at first sight" flashed around and she suppressed a giggle.

How sweet the silence between their glances. She tasted nectar and knew she would no longer awaken to the taste of poison. A silent magic caught their ears and cradled them with strange familiar words urging them to just let their hearts fall in.

Butterfly wings causing tiny tornadoes inside her heart. She flew as close as she could and found herself happily entangled in his web. Her crystal laugh waking the dormant spider. He spun his web around her and she sighed, "tighter".

She was stuck; he was dying. She gave him new life; he set her free...together they'd live.
